MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 5.2 earthquake struck Sarangani Island in Davao Occidental early Wednesday morning, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
In an earthquake bulletin, Phivolcs reported that the earthquake’s epicenter was located east of Sarangani and occurred at 5:26 a.m.

The earthquake, which was tectonic in origin, had a depth of 10 kilometers.

Phivolcs said that aftershocks may occur following the earthquake. No damage, however, is expected.
The agency also mentioned that reports on the earthquake’s intensities have yet to be released as of posting time.
